We will be sampling and sharing our views on many of today’s most popular and unheard of cigars, as well as visiting many of the local cigar lounges across the land.
On a recent deep sea fishing trip in sunny south Florida, I had an opportunity to enjoy the boat ride back to shore with a fan favorite, a wonderful cigar from the My Father family. Never miss an opportunity to enhance all of your fun outdoor activities with a nice cigar. As always, you’re the “JUDGE” of what’s appropriate behavior.
As an admitted cigar lover, and a proud supporter of the cigar industry, and cigar smokers in all corners of the world… I am always going to be more of an advocate for our motto here at Today’s Blaze, “ You’re the judge of whatever you’re having for Today’s Blaze“. Now as I pivot this conversation from that shameless plug, let me tie my opinion to it. While practically everyone can somewhat agree that a proper storage for your cigars in whatever storage you’re using is generally in a range of 66 to 72 RHL, these levels are not set in stone. After all, you know better than anyone else, how and what you want your cigar experience to be… in other words, you like what you like, and how you like it. You’re the judge of whatever is Today’s Blaze for you. I promise no more shameless plugs. Returning to the seriousness of this topic, your storing practices should NEVER be taken lightly. The threats of molds, cigar beetles and potentially destroying your entire collection of cigars and your humidor itself, are all very real things to be aware of. Take the time to educate yourself on the best storage practices for your personal collection of cigars in your home.
People often walk inside of a cigar shop and pay more attention to the obvious, like the many rows of fine hand rolled premium cigars. The wonderful aromas of the cedar wood and the cigars themselves, is more than enough to distract you from red flags that you might want to pay attention to. If you’re not too familiar with any shop in particular, take the time to access the environment of the cigar shop. Cigars require proper storage and can be quite delicate. When you’re browsing inside of your shop’s humidor, look for proper humidifier levels inside of the humidor. The levels vary for most cigar lovers, but a RHL (relative humidity level) of 66 to 72 RHL, are a common tried and true acceptable storage for ensuring a premium cigar in a premium condition for a fantastic smoke.
